Sture the stork (read the story)

Posted by EYE4photo (Hamar, Norway) on 8 December 2008 in Animal & Insect and Portfolio.

Not one of my best pictures, but still special! Never has a stork survived a winter in Norway. Sture stork can be the first! If he make it, it will be a sensation. Here at my homeplace it can be down to -32 Celsius / -26 Fahrenheit.Today, it was "only" -11 Celsius / -12 Fahrenheit. Poor Sture, brrrr ....

I drive past the wetlands today, the last day of the year, and certainly Sture still set there. Now it has been extremely cold weather the last week, so I am surprised that the bird still alive. He looks quite lonely there out on the ice. :-(
